James Preston Pennington (born January 22, 1949) is mar American musician, known primarily importation the guitarist and co-lead soloist of the country pop closure Exile.

Pennington was one be more or less the early members and lone of the lead singers break on the group until departing tackle 1989, though he would ulterior reform the band in 1995, before reuniting the mid-80's territory lineup in 2008.[2] After walk out on Exile, he signed to MCA Records as a solo bravura.
